Blog: Bias-based cyberaggression related to origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, and weight

Bias-based cyberaggression, which includes hateful and prejudiced content shared through digital platforms, is a common experience for young internet users. This kind of online behaviour can have harmful effects on both individuals and society as a whole. We conducted a systematic review of research dealing with young people's experiences, risk and protective factors and consequences of bias-based cyberaggression.

Open position: Postdoc in Psychology / Communication Studies / Media Studies

We are currently looking for a new colleague for the "DigiWELL - Excellence in Research on Digital Technologies and Wellbeing" project (project duration: 2024 - 2028). Within the project, we are responsible for the work package focused on short- and long-term impacts of the use of digital technologies on the wellbeing (social, psychological and physical) of the general population. The ySKILLS project is finishing. Our colleagues presented at the final conference in Leuven

The ySKILLS Consortium Meeting and Final Conference was held in Leuven, Belgium from 29 November to 1 December. It was the culmination of the four-year European Union's Horizon 2020 Youth Skills (ySKILLS) project, which focused on digital skills of children and adolescents. Our colleagues, David Šmahel, Marie Jaroň Bedrošová, Natálie Terčová, Michal Mužík and Hana Macháčková, who have worked on the project over the years, also attended the meeting.

Lenka Dědková was awarded a new grant – PARKA!

We are happy to announce that Lenka Dědková’s project received funding from the Czech Science Foundation („GAČR“). From 2024 onwards, Lenka and her team will examine parental mediation strategies in relation to online social activities of their offspring. Read more about the project in the blog!
