13 Oct 2022 Inaugural conference of the National Institute for Research on the Socioeconomic Impact of Disease and Systemic Risk Yesterday at the Scala University Cinema, the Rector of Masaryk University, Martin Bareš, inaugurated the work of the National Institute for Research on the Socioeconomic Impact of Diseases and Systemic Risks (SYRI), in which many of our members participate.
11 Oct 2022 Hayriye Gulec appointed as scientist responsible for implementation of European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) in Turkey Turkey has become a member of EAAD with the financial support of the Puma Sports Company, and will establish a long-lasting collaboration with the EAAD for prevention of depression and suicidal behavior. Our post-doc researcher Hayriye Gulec, PhD has become the responsible scientist for the implementation of the EAAD concept in Turkey!

27 Sep 2022 New research report: Cyberhate in Czech families We publish a new research report that maps cyberhate experiences of Czech adolescents and their parents’ and caregivers’ knowledge based on a sample of 3,087 Czech households collected in 2021. The authors of the report are Marie Bedrosova, Eliska Dufkova, Nataliia Dembytska, Michaela Gerzicakova, and Lenka Dedkova.

11 Aug 2022 IRTIS team joins the SYRI project SYRI focuses on researching current trends and needs in VaVaI in relation to the emergence of major systemic health risks, such as the covid-19 pandemic, and their associated social and economic impacts. Our members Hana Macháčková, David Šmahel, Eliška Dufková, Hayriye Güleç and Adéla Lokajová will be part of the project research team.
8 Aug 2022 New study: Association between viewing body-positive content online and body image The study investigates the indirect association between the self-reported frequency of viewing body-positive online content and body satisfaction through body appreciation and the moderating roles of body-ideal internalization, self-esteem, intentional searching, and gender. The authors of this research are Nikol Kvardová, Hana Macháčková and David Šmahel.

The lecture is entitled: Understanding within-person dynamics and interindividual differences using ecological momentary assessments and other intensive longitudinal data.
7 Mar 2022 New study: Czech Adolescents and mHealth Applications On the occasion of Safer Internet Day 2022, we publish a new research report that maps adolescents' use of mHealth applications. A total of 2484 Czech children aged 11-16 participated in this research. The authors of this research report are Adéla Lokajová and Prof. David Šmahel.
14 Feb 2022 New study: Explaining inequalities in vulnerable children’s digital skills A new study published in the Journal of New Media & Society examines the effect of individual and social discrimination on digital skills of vulnerable children. 7 Jan 2022 Natalia Waechter and several members of IRTIS team at Cyberspace 2021 The Cyberspace 2021 conference, co-organized by the IRTIS team, took place in Brno, but this time in hybrid form. The conference began with a presentation by the keynote speaker Natalia Waechter, an expert on the impact of technology on young people.
7 Jul 2021 Cyberpsychology: New impact factor and other exciting news New journal metrics reflecting the Cyberpsychology journal’s performance in 2020 were published. Cyberpsychology gained a new impact factor of 2.905 and SCImago Journal Rank is now 0.85, which is both a great improvement from the last year.

In a new study published in the Journal Youth and Adolescence, we examine the risk and protective factors of adolescents' exposure to harmful online content. The study was authored by N. Kvardová, H. Macháčková and D. Šmahel from IRTIS and K. Subrahmanyam from California State University.
