Our postdoc Lenka Dědková was awarded a scholarship for a research stay in Austria within AKTION Austria – Czechia program. She spent her October at the University of Vienna, where she visited the Advertising and Media Psychology Research Group (AdMe). Her stay had two main goals: (1) to discuss the theoretical background for studying the impacts of ICT usage on users' well-being, and (2) to propose and establish research cooperation between the Masaryk university's IRTIS research department and the University of Vienna's Department of Communication.
During the stay, Lenka continued her research on parental mediation and its long-term impact on children’s behavior, and used her time with the research group to discuss the mutual interests of both research teams and their theoretical and methodological overlaps. All these discussions helped Lenka to reflect on her research and shape her next steps forward – to her future habilitation thesis!
Lenka also met several times with the head of the AdMe group, Jörg Matthes, and postdoc researcher Anja Stevic to discuss future cooperation between the IRTIS and AdMe teams. They already started to work together on the analysis of IRTIS’ FUTURE project data. We look forward to collaborating with them!
Moreover, Lenka visited a number of Viennese galleries and museums and enjoyed, among others, the famous Wiener schnitzel. It was a thoroughly lovely experience.
